Petaling Jaya

About this Destination

Located close to the capital of Malaysia, Kualua Lumpur, Petaling Jaya is a little township which has developed into a city. Locals fondly call it 'PJ'. It is also supposed to be the rainiest area in all of Malaysia, having little to no dry seasons to speak of. Nonetheless, it makes for a lovely experience on account of its charming little neighbourhoods. Petaling Jaya is is considered to be the richest among all the cities in Malaysia. It is a truly commercial zone, punctuated with lots and lots of shops, shopping malls and the like. However, it was given the status of a city only later, in 2006. The city is characterized by its most popular landmark, Kota Darul Ehsan. This is an arch that is the boundary between PJ and Kuala Lumpur. It is also well-known for its frequent night markets, where tourists can snag a great deal or two.
