Adilabad

Adilabad is a small town in the state of Telangana that is famous for the beautiful Kunatala waterfalls located amidst lush forests. Originally known as Edulapuram, this place is for nature lovers and history buffs. Adilabad is currently Telangana's second-largest district and the town witnesses various customs and traditions that are a fusion of Telugu and Marathi culture. It is a popular destination for a weekend getaway from Hyderabad. Often referred to as the “White Gold City,” is a great place for nature lovers and for history buffs because it is home to thick forests, cascading waterfalls, a diverse population of fauna and also boasts of a long dynastic past.Some of the most popular attractions in Adilabad are waterfalls which are great for picnics and make for a fun trekking experience. Some of these include the Kuntala Waterfalls which overlook the Sahyadri Mountain Range, the Pochera Waterfalls and Gayatri Waterfalls which are located in the midst of the forest. One can discover the region’s biodiversity at the Kawal Wildlife Sanctuary and Shivaram Wildlife Sanctuary which are home to fauna like leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles, wolves and flora like teak, gumpena, timan and cassias.
