About this Destination
Tham Kong Lo or the Konglor is a karst limestone cave located in the Phou Hin Bun National Park close to Konglor in Khammouane Province in Laos. It is a deep cave running for about 7km through which the Nam Hinboun River flows. It is one of the most famous caves for tourists visiting Thakhek or Pakse, where they can get on motorized longboats to view large limestone formations including stalagmites. The caves are partly lit, and in some places, you will need headlamps. Also, water drips from the roofs in many areas within the caves. Some parts of the caves require walking in the water and mud. Within the cave is a large pool in emerald colour, which is considered sacred by the locals as they believe that reflects the colour of the skin of Hindu God Indira.
