About this Destination

Koh Poda is a stunning island located in the Krabi province, on the west coast of Thailand. It is close to Ao Nang, Railay Beach, and Klong Muang, making it a popular day trip destination. Koh Poda is part of the Poda Group of Islands, consisting of three more islands - Ko Kai, Ko Thap, and Ko Mo island. The island has a small area and comes under the Haad Noppharat Thara Mu Koh Phi Phi National Park, thus having entry fees of TBH 400 for foreigners and TBH 40 for Thais. Ko Poda is mostly famous for patches of greenery along with white sand beaches and pristine azure waters. The shores have shallow waters that support a good expanse of coral reefs and create an environment perfect for colorful exotic fishes to thrive in. One can also get to see some stunning Limestone formations cropping out of the ocean near the shores. The beaches are less commercialized, so there are very few restaurants or eateries available. The less crowded side of the island, in particular, has no provision for food and water. One side of Ko Poda is often bustling with activities, while the other is serene and less crowded. The buzzing side is the side where tourists enter the island. This site has a restaurant with a bar, the officer’s camp, and a small hotel, while the other side has nothing but lush vegetation. Koh Poda has stunningly crystal clear water with beautiful reefs ideal for swimming and snorkeling.
